When the Rays made that amazing World Series run from a 66-96 record a season ago. It made me so proud of them, but the Phillies won and got their championship. It was a good series and a great season.
In my lifetime, Kirk Gibson’s Game 1 home run still stands out as the single best moment in Dodger History…
Overall, I’d have to say it was either the day Jackie Robinson first took the field or a few years later when the team won their first (and only) World Series title in Brooklyn against the hated Yanks…
Red Sox comeback in 2004 being down 3-0 to Yankees and then winning the World Series.
Giants winning in 2010
Greatest moment? I’m going to just stick to the greatest moment I’ve seen during my lifetime(Yankees fan). I’d have to say the Aaron Boone HR to send the Yankees to the 2003 World Series. Unfortunately they lost, but I got over that a long time ago.
My team hasn’t won a championship since 1848. Pretty sad, right?
The Boston Red defeated the New York Yankees in 2004 playoffs!
Team Sarrafzedehkhoee: Penelope Cruz wins Supporting Oscar. Second only to Salma Hayack produces Ugly Betty. Oh, and Megan Fox stars in Transformers.
The walk off hit Luis Gonzalez had against Mariano Rivera in Game 7 of the 2001 World Series. The hit clinched the Diamondbacks first world series title in their franchise against the Yankees. That hit still stands out as their greatest moment in their history
1) Aaron Boone’s walkoff home run against the Red Sox in the 2003 ALCS
2) Don Larson’s Perfect Game during the 1956 World Series
3) Lou Gehrigs Farewell Speech
4) Reggie Jackson homers thrice during the 1977 World Series
5) Jeter’s Stunning Play in the 2001 ALDS
6) Babe Ruth’s “called shot”
Greatest moment in my team’s history was the day Jackie Robinson put on a Dodger uniform and walked out onto the field.
Greatest moment not involving fundamental human rights and equality? Kirk Gibson’s home run in 1988. Not only was it pure drama at its highest level, but it felt oh so good to stick it to LaRussa after his comments before the Series.

It would have been great to be alive to see this.
If I could only pick one moment, I’d have to pick game 7 of the 2003 ALCS, the game where Grady Little left Pedro Martinez in a few batters too long and the Yankees tied it with 1 out in the 8th, and then later on with Aaron Boone’s walkoff home run to lead off the 11th off Tim Wakefield.
In my lifetime, the Milwaukee Brewers making it to the 1982 World Series. My dad carried me on his shoulders down Wisconsin Ave. where there were ecstatic fans giving me high fives. Unfortunately, I was too young to remember it.
Before that, it would be the Milwaukee Braves winning the 1957 World Series (my dad’s time).
Well for the Oakland A’s, we won three straight championships from 1972-1974.
Then in 1989 we won another championship which is known as the “Earthquake Series” against the Giants.
But since I have been a fan of the team, their biggest accomplishment was winning 20 games in a row. In their 20th game, they had like a 11-0 lead agaisnt the Royals, then blew the lead, but Scott Hatteberg hit a walk off homer to give us our 20th straight win.
My personal favorite memory was actually a game against the Blue Jays. I remember fondly that it was a matchup between Ted Lilly against Dan haren. Haren allowed 8 runs and we were down 8-0. I was watching the game on TV and we were bating and the one thing I truly felt inspired us was Eric Chavez’s hard fought leadoff walk. Then a few batters later, Bobby Kielty would homer. Then Milton Bradley woudl follow with a home. And the bench was so energized and pumped. I remember Bradley was screaming, “LETS DO THIS!!!!!!!” from the dugout. They ended up taking hte lead by the 5th innings on a bloop double by Kielty. The A’s ended up winning that game by a run and Dan Haren actually got the win. Lilly ended up getting in a fight with his own manager Jay Gibbons.
Other fond memoories:
-A’s beatin the Twins two seasons ago after down 10 runs early. Matt Holliday with a grand slam tied it. Then Cust gave us the lead with a homer. We threw out Cuddyer at the plate for the final out of the game.
-A’s beating Angels. Game tied in the bot. 9 with 2 outs, and Jason Kendall at third. K-rod was pitching and after threwing a ball to the hitter, as the catcher returned the ball back to the pitcher, K-rod dropped and Kendall dashed for home and scored.
-A’s beating Twins in game 3 of the first round of the playoffs in 2006.
-Dallas Braden’s Perfect Game
That’s my favorite moment too. I’m a hige rays fan from back in the day when they had wade boggsm-m 22 I remember when tampa first got the rays. That was a proud moment for me when we won the american league championship. Do you live in tampa? Ilve in east tampa on 78th street across the street from the hardrock casino. I go to USF. I really hope we make it back to another world series I don’t care if I have to sell everything I am going to go and watch this time with my rays hawk on

I guess it would have to be the walk-off hit by Gene Larkin to win the 1991 World Series

Beating the Yankees to go to your 1st World Series, unbelievable feeling. I get chills watching that video.
The Yankees in the 2001 World Series when they had back to back walk-offs when Brousis hit a Home Run then the next game Jeter hit one off of Bung-Yung-Kim. MR.NOVEMBER!!!!!! New York was also coming off of 9/11 and was in need of hope. I know The Yankees had great moments in history, but for my 13 years of life I’ve only seen so many!
2004, game 7 of the ALCS
1991 World Series game seven. Gene Larkin hit a walk-off single in the bottom of the 10th. The Twins had a 1-0 win with a complete game by Jack Morris. I was on pins and needles the whole game, but when that happened, I was jumping up and down for joy.
March 21, 2011 The Mets released LHP Oliver Perez.
OR
Endy Chavez catch (we didn’t win, but it was awesome)
I know Mets fans would say ’86 (I would) but I wanted to be different. lol

It was their second World Series, but this was a great triumph for baseball… the crushing economic force that is the Yankees brought down by the poorest team in baseball.
Jack Morris’ spectacular Game 7 in 1991.
35-5 start
Home runs that left Tiger Stadium
and the Should ‘have walk him in 84.
Every double play turned by the Keystone of Trammell and Sweet Lou Witaker.
